Manager and Swim Teacher
Esther Bubrik
Esther is the proud new owner of Star Skills Swimming since 2020 and Swimming Teacher for over 10 years. She started as a squad swimmer at UWA Uniswim at the age of 7 and competed in Interschool Swimming Carnivals in High School. From there she found her passion in Artistic Swimming competing in Nationals and her first International Competition in 2017. She is passionate about creating a community of swimmers and parents focused on helping their children overcome the exciting challenges of learning to swim.

Admin Assistant
Racquel Ramos
Racquel is the skilled Admin Assistant at Star Skills Swimming, playing a pivotal role in ensuring your swimming journey is smooth sailing. As the primary contact person, she is dedicated to providing top-notch administrative support to make your experience with us truly exceptional.
Racquel handles the complexity behind the scenes, making sure everything runs like clockwork. Whether you have enquiries, need assistance, or simply want to chat about your swimming goals, Racquel is your friendly and reliable point of contact.
Swim Teachers
Star Skills Swimming only employs experienced, well qualified teachers to maintain a high standard of teaching. Our teachers need to be able to adapt to different learning styles, tailor activities to cater for individual needs and keep swimmers motivated and learning for the full lesson time. This takes expertise!
All staff have a current AUSTSWIM teaching qualification, working with children certificate and CPR training.

Ella
Ella is a 20 year old Physical Education Teaching student at ECU. Ella comes from a basketball background including playing and coaching. She chose to become a swim teacher as she loves being able to help students become the best they can be, and supporting them to challenge themselves. Ella has been teaching for a year with experience working at for both Terry Tyzack and Perth College. In her free time she enjoys singing, going to the gym and running.

Hayley
Hi! I'm Hayley and I've been doing swim teaching since I was in year 12, almost 4 years ago now. I've been working with Swan Active and Perth College swim academy which both have a different aims in their swim programs. Currently I live and work in the Perth College boarding house with 108 teenage girls but I've just finished my degree in Geology and Conservation Biology and will be working as a geologist next year.

Imogen
Imogen brings more than 17 years of experience in the aquatic industry, covering roles like swim school supervision and instruction She's worked with notable organizations such as State Swim, Royal Life Saving WA, Swimming WA, and the Department of Education. Imogen's passion even led her to New Zealand, where she spent a season teaching swimming on her days off. Recently, she's been dedicated to teaching infant survival aquatics with Survival Swimming WA and contributing to the cALD program with Royal Life Saving WA.

Kinta
Kinta has been teaching since 2020 and swimming competitively for over a decade. He has worked with Mercy Baby Swim, UWA UniSwim and Perth Swim School with experience in all ages from babies to adults. Kinta understands the importance of ensuring everyone is able to 'have a go' in the water and has experience with people with disabilities through volunteering; as well as working with refugees in the Swim4Refugees program.

Lauren
Fresh from completing year 12, Lauren joins us as a swim instructor with boundless enthusiasm. She has hands-on experience teaching various age groups and skill levels. Lauren recognizes the significance of offering everyone the opportunity to thrive, ensuring they learn to swim and stay safe in the water. Her passion and dedication make her a valuable addition to the Star Skills Swimming team.

Melinda
I'm Melinda, and teaching has been a lifelong passion of mine. My journey started with the Education Department, teaching VacSwim lessons right after high school. With my teaching degree in hand, I dedicated many years to various Primary Schools and Day Care settings, both in Perth and the Pilbara. Country life treated me well, allowing me to connect with the community, camp, and start a family. I returned to my roots as a swimming teacher. I also worked with older children, concentrating on stroke correction, development, and squad endurance.

Sinan
I have been swimming from a young age as a member of my local surf club, and through participation in swim sports during primary and high school, which prompted my transition into working as a swim teacher in early 2021. With experience in both private and public pools, I have taught a range of levels from young toddlers who are new to the water, to children progressing into squad-level swimming, and have developed the confidence to provide engaging and enjoyable classes for children of all ages.

Sofia
Sofia is a Primary Education student specialising in Inclusive Education at the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle. Prior to becoming an instructor, Sofia was a dedicated squad swimmer throughout highschool, and participated in Floreat SLSC in primary school. She is a passionate yet professional instructor who has worked for Royal Life Saving WA, Perth College, LozSwim and Churchlands Swim School. Sofia ensures learning to swim is a safe and positive space for her students, and strives to always make learning fun.
